The software giant Adobe which id famous for its Flash software, has embraced HTML5 with the release of Adobe Edge, Adobe Edge is new web motion and interaction design tool enable Web designers to create online content using the Web programming languages HTML5, JavaScript and CSS, not Flash. Adobe Edge is coming as the first professional-grade HTML5 editing tool on the market and is currently available for free.
The new software product relies on strict HTML standards and does not incorporate Flash, is not intended to replace existing web design tools like Dreamweaver or Flash, but to give developers a tool that will enable them to create animated Web content on devices that do not run Flash, specifically those Apple iOS mobile devices like the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch, enhancing Adobe’s position as a leader in the future of Web infrastructure, especially as HTML5 becomes increasingly important in the world of mobile.
Mark Anders, an Adobe fellow who is leading the Adobe Edge project, said:“The developer community has really been asking for the software.”
Adobe Edge is available as a free preview download from Adobe’s Web site.
